Paramount Pictures postponed a three-week plan to shoot Mission Impossible 7 for Tom Cruise in Venice, Italy, due to the Corona virus. The studio issued an announcement on Monday, February 24, 2020 local time.
Paramount cited the Venetian government’s statement to stop public meetings. Italy has more than 150 confirmed cases of the disease.
“Because we are very careful for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and the efforts of the Venetian government to stop public meetings in response to the threat of the Corona virus.
We changed the production plan for our three-week shoot in Venice, which has been scheduled for the first part from Mission Impossible 7.
“Paramount wrote in its official announcement as reported by Variety, Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
“During this pause we pay attention to the crew’s concerns and let them return home until production begins.
We will continue to monitor this situation, and work with health workers and the government as it develops,” the statement continued.
